As a local energy operator, the Intercommunal Heating Company of the Greater Grenoble Area (CCIAG) manages the second heating network after Paris in a responsible and socially responsible way.
Actor of urban development since 1960
As the delegate of a local public energy service, CCIAG is a local joint-stock company based on public and private shareholding. The Local Authorities are represented, with the City of Grenoble majority shareholder, alongside Grenoble Alpes Métropole and the City of Echirolles. The private sector represented by the Dalkia Group. To provide the energy needed for nearly 100,000 housing equivalents in 7 municipalities, CCIAG has six different fuels and five production units interconnected by a 170 km mesh network.
Thanks to an increasingly green energy mix, the Grenoble area's heating network is an exceptional tool for urban planning, combating the greenhouse effect and controlling energy consumption.
Acting for a sustainable world
The CCIAG is developing in the long term and is implementing a corporate strategy for sustainable comfort for all. An actor committed to sustainable development, it aims at a balanced and responsible management of its actions in the economic, social and environmental fields.
The strength of its values lays its priorities in contact with its customers and users: Responsibility, solidarity, citizenship, proximity, commitment and respect for the customer ensure its day-to-day development under control. Every day, CCIAG accompanies its customers on the path of energy performance.
Inexhaustible energy
CCIAG is at the same time an energy transformer, a producer and a distributor of heat for heating and hot water. For more than 55 years, CCIAG has been constantly innovating and finding efficient solutions to improve energy efficiency and its services.
Thanks to the flexibility of its production tools and the flexibility of its industrial processes, CCIAG has been able to adapt its fuel mix to ensure its customers the continuity of its 24-hour heat service.
The Heating Company linked to the local history
Since 1960, CCIAG has been resolutely tackling the economic and energy challenges that punctuate its history (urban development, successive oil shocks, waste management, global warming). CCIAG has always proposed alternative and innovative solutions to major environmental issues:
1960s
Construction boom, district heating provides an economical and safe solution.
1970s
First oil shock of 1973, It makes massive use of coal. Recycling of household waste rising sharply, creation of a household waste incinerator
2000s
Global warming, the CCIAG is strongly oriented towards "clean" local energy and innovative techniques (biomass, flours, cogeneration)
Early 2010s
Globalized energy crisis, the CCIAG reaches the threshold of 50% of green energies and optimizes its production tools.
