Companhia de Água e Esgotas de Paraíba - CAGEPA is a mixed-stock corporation with authorized capital, constituted by authorization of State Law No. 3,459 of December 31, 1966, as amended by State Law No. 3,702 of December 11, 1972 , linked to the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Water Resources, Environment and Science and Technology - SEIRHMACT with headquarters and forum in the city of João Pessoa, State of Paraíba, and jurisdiction throughout the territory of the State, with a duration Law No. 6404/76 of December 15, 1976, which was amended by Law No. 11,638, dated December 28, 2007, Law 13,303, of December 30, June 2016 and its Statute. Their total capital is distributed into Common Shares (with voting rights) and Preferred (non-voting) Shares, where 99.98% of the common shares belong to the Government of the State of Paraíba and 0.02% are distributed among 471 shareholders physical and legal.
Cagepa's board of directors has defined procedures for better execution of projects defined as goals. To this end, it has been implementing with the company's employees principles that aim at decentralization, with autonomy of decisions; the strengthening of Regional Management so that they have a strong role in the management of the water resources of their regions; the implementation of a new relationship with mayors from whom power is granted, and transparency, control and open access to information.
