In 2001, Colombia faced major social and economic challenges in terms of poverty, education, security, inequality and unemployment. In this context, civil society organizations positioned themselves as development vehicles, channeling resources and implementing social interventions with the most needy population in the country.
These organizations generated relevant initiatives and solutions, but often worked in a disjointed way, with a caregiving approach and opportunities to improve their internal processes and organizational models so that they could be more efficient and sustainable in the future.
Starting from this reality, a group of leaders linked to the most prestigious professional services firms, devised the way to bring good management and management practices to social sector entities, betting in this way to the transformation of the country.
The result of this initiative was the creation of Compartamos with Colombia. A non-profit corporation that leverages knowledge, good practices, and the voluntary work of its creative firms, seeks to build capacity in the social sector to effectively contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive country.
