Located in G’Bessia, a place nearby 13 kilometers from the city center, the Conakry International Airport was built in 1945. It is the main airport of the Republic of Guinea.
Successive transformations enabled it to monitor the traffic to accommodate all types of aircraft as jumbo B 747-400.

Air navigation equipment and landing instruments which are conform to international policies, allow access to the airport in all-weather.

The Conakry airport consists mainly of:

• An International Terminal for passenger
• A Domestic terminal for domestic flights and to some neighboring countries;
• A Freight Terminal;
• A technical area (mechanical workshops, power station, an aviation fuel depot, Building Service Fire Safety and Rescue (protection level: Class 9 ICAO), Control Tower, meteorological center, transformer stations of visual aids and aids to Air Navigation (VOR, ILS DME) and a production center Catering);
• An aircraft parking with 20 spaces including two in contact with the international terminal, with two boarding bridges and guide sight;
• Three parkings for cars including one near each terminal;
• A waiting area and a meeting point for passengers and public, located in the parking area of the international terminal;
• A landing track – 3300 meters long and 49 meters wide;
• A taxiway – 1,000 meters long and 22.5 meters wide.
