CONDESAN is an organization committed to overcoming poverty and social exclusion in the Andean region through the sustainable management of natural resources. In order to achieve its goal, CONDESAN works through four Institutional Programs. These Institutional Programs willcontribute to generate regional synthesis that will strengthen the political dialogue, and expand the basis of information and knowledge on sustainable development and natural resource management in the Andean Eco-region.
The first of CONDESAN Institutional Programs is Panorama Andino. It is a participatory research process on the state of knowledge, action, and policies on the fundamental issues of sustainable mountain development, and natural resource management in the Andes.
The second is Diálogo Andino, which purpose is to provide opportunities for dialogue and cross learning between actors of sustainable development in the Andes. It will also lead to enhance development efforts and contribute to the formulation of policy recommendations that guide decisions making about sustainable management of natural resources in the Andean countries.
The third program is Monitoreo Andino, in which CONDESAN strivesto give continuity to environmental monitoring networks working on issues related to biodiversity, carbon, water resources and livelihoods.
Finally, the oldest program of all is InfoAndina. It is the multimedia platform through which CONDESAN and its partners disseminate knowledgeon issues related to sustainable development in the Andes. InfoAndina is also the program through which CONDESAN promotesthe capacity building of development actors in the Andes.
