CONFSAL, how and why
The CONFSAL was founded in July 1979 by the will of two strong autonomous formations, the SNALS and the ' UNSA , for many years and positively to the fore the vast scenario Italian trade union. The merger of these two strong trade union structures into a new Confederation was not a point of arrival, but a starting point for attempting the total unification of Italian autonomous trade unionism. Even today CONFSAL operates and moves as a point of reference and aggregating pole to accelerate this process.
The inspiring lines of the trade union policy of this new Confederation are summarized in the political-programmatic document, an integral part of the Constitutive Act of the CONFSAL.
It effectively reaffirms the moral, cultural and human values that have characterized the action of the entire autonomous syndicalism over time. CONFSAL, in fact, aims to work for the "realization of the protection and enhancement of the human person of the worker understood as a fundamental protagonist of the economic and social life of the country".
The organization of the structure and the operational initiative of CONFSAL is consequently anchored to solid principles of democracy, pluralism and independence as necessary supports aimed at guaranteeing effective participatory leadership.
Also interpreting the expectations of the world of work disappointed by the politics of trade unions with a strong ideological-party character, their Confederation intends to pursue and achieve over time and in a unified context with the other autonomous formations the following objectives:
- create a valid alternative to ideological syndicalism which has often moved in a narrow or distorted view of the interests of the world of work;
- affirm a less ritualistic and demagogic line of trade union action and therefore more prompt to pay attention to the general interests of the community;
- seek equalization and the indispensable pay justice for workers in a vision aimed at affirming and exalting professionalism and meritocracy;
- activate adequate social promotion strategies aimed at recovering the economic system to ensure higher levels of quality of life for all workers.
