Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) is the main organization dedicated to the promotion of science and technology in Argentina.
Currently, more than 10 thousand researchers, more than 11 thousand PhD and postdoctoral fellows, more than 2,600 technicians and research support professionals and approximately 1,500 administrative staff work in the organization. They work distributed throughout the country -from the Antarctic to the Puna and from the Andes Mountain Range to the Argentine Sea- in its 15 Technological Science Centers (CCT), 11 Research and Transfer Centers (CIT), a Research Center Multidisciplinary and more than 280 Institutes and Centers exclusive of CONICET and double and triple dependence with national universities and other institutions.
