Overview

The Consejo Superior de Cámaras de Comercio, Industria y Navegación de España are charged, in the exercise of their activity, to the protection of the General State Administration or that of the autonomous communities, in case they have assumed the competence in their statutes. The Administration of the State is responsible for the protection of activities related to foreign trade, as established by Law 4/2014, of April 1, Basic of the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation.   This law creates the Consejo Superior de Cámaras de Comercio, Industria y Navegación de España, from the transformation of the Superior Council of Chambers, which will represent all the Chambers before the various state and international instances and will coordinate and promote the actions that affect to the set of the Spanish Chambers. Said Chamber will be the new executing body, in collaboration with the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation, including the Spanish Chambers of Commerce abroad, the Cameral Internationalization Plan and the Cameral Competitiveness Plan that are intended to reinforce the role of the Chambers in improving the competitiveness of companies and in the internationalization of the Spanish economy.   The Consejo Superior de Cámaras de Comercio, Industria y Navegación de España from the current Superior Council of Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation must be constituted before January 31, 2015. Until then, the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce will remain in force. , as a corporation composed of representatives of all the Chambers and representative body, relationship and coordination thereof. His tutelage is exercised by the State Administration through the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Likewise, the aforementioned Law 4/2014, of April 1, attributes the guardianship function over the future Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Spain to the General State Administration, through the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.   Under Royal Decree 1554/2004 of June 25 and the subsequent Royal Decree 226/2014, of April 4, which develops the basic organizational structure of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, corresponds to the General Directorate of Domestic Trade the protection of the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Spain and of the Official Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of the Cities of Ceuta and Melilla.   On July 6, 2010, under the chairmanship of the Secretary of State for Commerce, by express delegation of the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade, the Plenary of the Superior Council of Chambers was constituted, electing its President and Executive Committee.
