Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs
The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in the New Order era was formed on July 25, 1966 under the name of the Main Ministry for Economics, Finance and Industry (EKUIN) which was then held by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. This ministry is incorporated in the Ampera I Cabinet which replaced the Dwikora Cabinet. Along with the change of Government, the name of the Ministry has also changed several times (see Names of Coordinating Ministers). The name "Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs" itself only began in 2000.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
In accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 8 of 2015 concerning the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has the task of coordinating, synchronizing and controlling the affairs of the Ministry in the administration of the economy.
The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs functions:
1. Coordinating and synchronizing the formulation, stipulation and implementation of Ministries / Institutions policies related to issues in the economic sector;
2. control of the implementation of Ministries / Institutions policies related to issues in the economic sector;
3. coordinating the implementation of tasks, guidance, and providing administrative support to all elements of the organization within the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs;
4. management of state property / wealth which is the responsibility of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs;
5. supervision of the implementation of duties within the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs; and
6. Specific task implementation given by the President.
In carrying out its duties, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs coordinates:
Ministry of Finance (Sri Mulyani Indrawati);
Ministry of Industry (Airlangga Hartanto);
Ministry of Commerce (Enggartiasto Lukita);
Ministry of Agriculture (Andi Amran Sulaiman);
Ministry of Environment and Forestry (Siti Nurbaya);
Ministry of Manpower (Hanif Dhakiri);
Ministry of BUMN (Rini Soemarno);
Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Basuki Hadimuljono);
Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (Sofyan Djalil);
Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Anak Agung Gusti Ngurah Puspayoga);
Other agencies deemed necessary.
VISION:
"Realization of effective and sustainable coordination, synchronization and economic development control"
The vision of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs supports the President's Vision, namely "The realization of a Sovereign, Independent Indonesia and a Basic Personality of Mutual Cooperation ". The vision is compiled based on the crystallization of the agreed statement of the organization's components as the basic values of professional organizational personality, integrity, cooperation, innovation and responsibilityabbreviated as "MIND". Confidence in the basic values of the organization will provide confidence to employees that the desire to be achieved in the next five years can be realized. The vision of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has the meaning of coordination and synchronization, which is a process of seeking the similarity of perceptions, thoughts and actions in realizing the achievement of goals. While control is part of the process of coordination and synchronization, the emphasis on each accountability center is sought to realize organizational goals as planned and carried out effectively and efficiently. The meaning of the word effective and sustainable has the following meanings. Effective means that the results of coordination and synchronization results provide significant benefits and impacts for efforts to achieve development goals in the economic field. While the word sustainable means that coordination must be carried out continuously and proactively so that the implementation of economic development carried out by the sector and economic actors can work in synergy so that the economic development achieved can be sustainable.

The mission is a step in the role of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in seeking / ensuring that the President's Mission includes " Creating a High, Advanced and Prosperous Indonesian Human Life Quality and Realizing a Competitive Nation ", whose implementation is realized through cross-sectoral performance in the economic field. To improve cross-sectoral performance in the economic sector optimally, an effort is needed to unite the actions of unity of thought, unity of action, and harmony from various related institutions, so that the implementation of sector performance can synergize well and be carried out as planned. In line with the strategies and activities carried out in the effort to achieve the intended plan, controlling the implementation of policies / programs intensively strived to overcome the problems that arise in the process of achieving performance can be anticipated early so that the performance progress in implementing policies / programs in the economy runs optimally.
