History
The COPESCO Plan Regional Special Project, Executing Unit of the Regional Government of Cusco is a planning and executing entity of basic infrastructure works for the sustainable development of tourism, its purpose is to carry out studies and the execution of basic tourist infrastructure works, putting in value of monuments, tourist conditioning, among others.
The COPESCO Plan was created by Supreme Decree No. 001-69-IC / DS dated April 25, 1969 as a Special Commission to Supervise the Cultural Tourism Plan, since its creation, it has privileged accumulated investments of more than 200 million dollars, for the execution of tourist infrastructure and programs to promote regional development, a condition that has institutionalized it as the specialized entity of the Cusco Regional Government, to cement the supports of regional socio-economic development sustained in this strategic axis.

Competence
The COPESCO Plan Regional Special project is a decentralized body of the Regional General Management, with legal status under public law, has technical, economic and administrative autonomy in the measures that the regulations authorize it. He is responsible for formulating, coordinating, directing, executing, managing and providing specialized technical assistance in investment projects related to tourism infrastructure.
