Council of Youth of Spain ( Consejo de la Juventud de Espana - CJE)
About

The Council of Youth of Spain (CJE) is a platform of youth entities, created by law in 1983 and formed by the Youth Councils of the Autonomous Communities and youth organizations at the state level. Encouraging the participation of youth in the political, social, economic and cultural development of our State in a global environment is our essential goal, as reflected in article 48 of the Spanish Constitution. At present 60 youth entities are part of this common project.

We work to achieve a plural platform that encourages reflection and the exchange of ideas and experiences among the different sensibilities and ideologies that shape the reality of youth associations in our state, as well as to transfer proposals, claims and complaints that arise in the bosom of the CJE to the Administration, social agents and the media. All aimed at responding to the problems, concerns and aspirations of youth and improving their quality of life.

Their values are democratic and plural participation, as a means to exercise full citizenship in society, social commitment, equal opportunities, dialogue and respect for diversity in its broadest sense.

The existence of the Council of Youth of Spain supposes a right and at the same time a commitment: to participate in the design of policies that directly or indirectly affect young people and present alternatives to the problems of this group.

Their representative, critical and demanding work has consolidated the CJE as a valid interlocutor of the interests of the youth and at the same time it has allowed us to conquer spaces of action in which the young people have stopped being mere spectators to become protagonists. And for that reason we continue working.
