Cross-border Research Association

Cross-border Research Association, CBRA, was founded in 2005, as a spin-off from University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where the CBRA founder was doing a doctoral thesis on “Post-2001 supply chain security”. Today, CBRA carries out research, education and consulting work with and for governmental, industrial and academic partners and clients, within the broad context of supply chain security management and global trade facilitation disciplines. A common role for CBRA is to act as a research facilitator between supply chain and governmental stakeholder, understanding in detail the security and facilitation related objectives, requirements, constraints and bottlenecks for both parties. All in all, CBRA has worked in near 30 projects and published over 70 articles since year 2005 – vast majority of their projects being based on various mandates, financed by research-development-innovation grants (e.g. EU FP7 & H2020); development agency funds (e.g. GIZ in Germany); direct industry funding (e.g. the European express industries); and via direct government contracts (e.g. in Switzerland, EU and the Middle-East).
