A subsidiary of the world's top producer of diesel engines, Cummins Brasil is leading the way in Brazil. In 1974, they started their industrial activities in Guarulhos (SP). Manufacturing a wide range of motors, the company supplies several segments of the marketplace, among them: trucks of all sizes, pickups, buses, stationary applications, construction machines, agricultural equipment, machines for mining and marine applications.
In September 2000, Cummins also started acting in the manufacturing, sales and rental of power generators, by means of their authorized collaborators.
Guarulhos Factory, with 60 thousand m² of gross area, located next to Presidente Dutra Highway, in an area of 138 thousand m², presently has capacity to produce over 70 thousand engines per year. The company owns a network of 32 dealers in Latin America - three of them are owned by Cummins: São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Santiago, besides hundreds of spare parts sale points and technical assistance within the 22 countries that are covered by the Brazilian factory.

Volunteering
This program was born from the desire of officials Cummins Brazil to disseminate their knowledge and skills to an audience starved for information, affection, companionship. In August 2005, the program was officially launched, where the company gives 4 hours monthly to each employee who has an approved project.
State School Cummins Victor Civita
In State School Grade 1 Victor Civita Cummins, created and maintained by the partnership between Cummins and the state government of São Paulo, began work with 200 students. Today we have 430 children who have shown an amazing educational development. The actions of the school, in conjunction with the company's willingness to collaborate with the development of the education by donating computers, uniforms for the children and food baskets for teachers have been extremely important tools for improving the quality of life of the community Garden Cumbica.
Creche Bezerra de Menezes
The nursery Bezerra de Menezes, located in Garden Cumbica is another of Cummins works for the benefit of the community. The organization provides education, food and entertainment to 180 children aged 5 and 6 years. Cummins collaborates by supporting the development of the nursery, holding events, taking care of building maintenance, providing psychological care, with the assistance of the company's employees and volunteers donating food baskets, Christmas baskets, magazines, books, and developing project group of volunteers.
Basic Health Unit Clessie Cummins
Cummins also works for the health of the population. To contribute, Cummins Brazil, in partnership with the city of Guarulhos, inaugurated in 1992, the Basic Health Unit Clessie Cummins. Currently there are about 12,200 calls made per month and the unit is considered one of the best clinics in the region. The free Clessie Cummins serves in various specialties, not just the population of the municipality of Guarulhos, but also the poor community of neighboring municipalities. A Health Unit has contributed to the reduction of infant mortality rate and development of viral diseases and epidemiological in Jd. Young Citizen Program
With the goal of providing an opportunity for their first job to needy youngsters of Garden Cumbica, Cummins implemented in 2004, the Young Citizen Program. Through it, adolescents aged 16 to 18 have the opportunity to enter the labor market and acquire professional qualifications, without disrupting their studies. These young people spend 6 hours a day in the company in a particular department, assisting with general administrative tasks. In 2005, 11 youth were hired and the outcome for both parties has been satisfactory. Besides learning, for example, to answer calls in English and Spanish, the young citizens are encouraged to make a habit of reading through borrowing books from the library of the company. Are made periodic meetings between youth and mentors responsible for the area of Social Projects to assess the progress of the program.
