Since its establishment, the Red Cross, by applying the fundamental principles which are Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality, among others helps the prevention and relief of human pain and the confrontation of emergency situations in the whole world, in times of peace or war, without gender, age, social class, religion or political discrimination.
The Cyprus Red Cross Society (CRCS) was founded in 1950 as a branch of the British Red Cross. After the nomination of the Cyprus Democracy, and Cyprus adheres to Geneva Conventions. CRCS, was established as legal entity under the Law 39 of 1967.
Vision
To establish the Cyprus Red Cross Society as the leading humanitarian organization in Cyprus to which people will want to contribute and which will attract persons of all ages and backgrounds for volunteer service.
Mission
The Mission of the CRCS, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its own Statutes, is to prevent and alleviate human suffering and to support and prepare individuals and communities to respond effectively to emergencies, in times of peace and war, without any discrimination as to race, class, gender, religion or faith or political opinions or beliefs or any other similar grounds.
