About

Dahari is a Comorian NGO created in 2013. Dahari means “sustainable” or “forever” in Comorian. Its slogan Komori ya leo na meso translates as “the Comoros of today and tomorrow”.

Dahari's mission is to shape sustainable and productive landscapes with Comorian communities. They are implementing projects to restore degraded lands and forests in the Comoros and to preserve rivers and marine ecosystems while improving the living conditions of the population. To do this, they have developed a strategy around five areas that benefit from the expertise of their multinational collaborators: rural development (agriculture, agroforestry, animal husbandry), the management of land natural resources, the management of marine resources, conservation biodiversity (including ecological research) and ecotourism.

Dahari was born out of the Community Commitment for Sustainable Development (ECDD) project launched in 2008, itself the result of the Conservation Comoros project initiated in 2005. They currently have 60 employees for an annual budget of around 600,000 euros. The programs we are developing correspond to their vision of a dynamic and united Comorian society, controlling its future, while living in harmony with its environment.
