The Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) carries out tasks in the areas of the media, telecommunications and postal services as well as the information society in Switzerland. It ensures a stable and progressive communication infrastructure, creates the basis for a strong Swiss media center and coordinates the implementation of the "Digital Switzerland" strategy. The Office prepares the decisions of the Federal Council, the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication (DETEC) and the Federal Communication Commission (ComCom). OFCOM is also active on an international level.
