The David Citadel hotel was built during the nineties, on the ruins of some old buildings and was opened in 1998 under the "Hilton" hotels chain. The hotel was originally planned and designed by award winning architect Moshe Safdi, and was recently redesigned by top Italian designer Pierro Lissoni. 

In 2001 it was decided to separate the hotel for Hilton and it was renamed "The David Citadel hotel".
The hotel has ten floors, and is built in the shape of a horseshoe with balconies overlooking the old city and historical Tower of David.

At the base are located the Lobby Lounge restaurant with the glass ceiling, the Seasons restaurant and the swimming pool. 

The sides of the building are set as stairs descending downwards, which allows all suites covered balconies with view to the old city.

The hotel is built with the traditional Jerusalem gold limestone, which gives it a luxurious and glorious appearance.

The hotel Architect: Moshe Sfadi

Moshe Sfadi was born in Haifa in 1938. Only six years after graduating from architecture studies at MCgille University at 1961 Moshe Sfadi has brought a big success with his award winning project – Habitat 67'. Amongst his other projects is Musée de la Civilization.

The hotel designer: Pierro Lissoni

Top Italian designer Pierro Lissoni brings his tremendous experience to the David Citadel hotel, which shows in his design – from the little specifics to combining the Jerusalem environment. 

Lissoni has worked for some of the biggest brands, including Boffi, Cassina, Kartell, Alessi and Poltrona Frau. He has design leading architectural projects such as the Monaco hotel, private houses and luxurious stores around the world.
