About

They Built Day & Ross For The Potatoes

Over 65 years ago, Elbert Day and Walter Ross started a transportation company with a single truck. The company was fittingly named Day & Ross. Their first truckload of freight was a load of spuds hauled from New Brunswick to Quebec. It was a simple beginning, but no small potatoes.

Where They Are Today

With twelve consecutive years as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, Day & Ross Freight has become the national carrier of choice for thousands of Canadian companies. With service to all ten provinces, Day & Ross offers customers direct Less-than-Truckload (LTL) and Truckload (TL) service anywhere in Canada, as well as to and from the United States and Mexico.

They Have The Power

They have grown from one potato truck and two Maritimers to include over 3,800 power units and trailers and more than 2,390 experienced employees and Owner Operators. With terminals and facilities in 38 terminals across Canada, whatever you want to ship, including potatoes, can be shipped.

Tomorrow Looks Even Brighter

Day & Ross Freight is committed to continuous improvement, an approach that has helped propel Day & Ross to become one of the largest transportation and logistics providers in Canada. Committed to 98% on-time service and 99.6% damage-free shipments, they believe the results speak for themselves.
