The Ombudsman's Office is the institution of the Colombian State responsible for promoting the effectiveness of the human rights of the inhabitants of the national territory and of Colombians abroad, within the framework of the Social State of Democratic, Participatory and Pluralistic Law, through the following integrated actions:

• Promote, exercise and disseminate human rights.
• Protect and defend human rights and prevent their violations.
• Promote the observance of international humanitarian law.
• Attend, guide and advise in the exercise of their rights.
• Provide access to the administration of justice, in the cases indicated in the Law.

Vision

The Ombudsman's Office in 2020 will be recognized for its impact on the construction of peace, the promotion of human rights, the optimization of its management and the institutional action based on respect for human dignity and the concept of integrality of rights humans, especially in the most vulnerable territories.
