Sustainable development Portal Info Travel In September 2015, the general assembly of the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals post 2015. A major event which comes to relaunch the commitments of the parties to Rio 1992, and the other summits (Johannesburg in 2002 and Rio + 20). 

Indeed, the migration from the MDGs to the SDGs constitutes a shortcut of incomparable relevance as it strengthens the various guidance and monitoring systems existing in their missions for overall consistency of policies and actions. 

First, the 17 SDGs apply to all countries, respecting their own circumstances and concerns (not binding).   

They also invite the adoption of a new paradigm which favors the constant search for a balance between the 3 dimensions of Sustainable Development: the economic dimension, the social dimension and the Environmental dimension. 

Profile of Senegal 

Today Senegal is working like other countries to implement the SDGs post 2015 for: 

  • Fight against global warming, the manifestations of which are visible on a planetary scale, and our country does not escape it;
  • Install sustained economic and social development that takes into account the good health of the environment.
  • Reinforce the option of territorialization of public policies declined in act 3 of decentralization for a new form of governance of resources, having to Ensure better communication (information sharing, awareness raising of actors and capacity building of actors ) etc
