We aim in making AWCs first point of contact for all kind of delivery of services related to Pre- School Education, Health and Nutrition & Empowerment of Women.


About 

With a view to ensuring overall development of women and children in the state, protection of the rights provided in the constitution and linking them to the mainstream of development, establishing coordination in various schemes / programs related to the development of women through various departments, The Department of Women and Child Development has been continuously working since the year 1985 for the purpose of determining the future plans and their effective implementation. In order to improve the condition of women in the state and to make them equally in the mainstream of development, in response to the discussion on the budget speech year 2007-08, the Hon'ble Chief Minister announced the formation of a separate women empowerment directorate. In compliance to this, Directorate dated 18 June 2007, Women's Empowerment was formed.
