HISTORY
An institution at the service of teachers: that was the objective with which it was organized. It was created on December 10, 1965, at the request of the teachers' guilds to have a Retirement Fund that increases the pension benefits granted by the state system. It began to operate on March 1, 1966. The administration, in the hands of the State, did not capitalize the contributions of the teachers, which caused that this fund was diluted year by year, as much for the diminution of the purchasing power of the currency as By the increasing number of retirements.
By 1982, the institution was not only practically bankrupt, but it generated distrust in the teachers for the small amounts of retirement that it granted. Faced with this situation and at the request of Peruvian teachers, in 1984 the government transferred it to the teachers' unions. Since 2000, it has optimized its services and became a private institution, managed by representatives of teachers and managed by a qualified management and professional staff.
In 2007, in contravention of all existing agreements, the government issued a rule that prevented the automatic collection of teachers' contributions. It was necessary a national mobilization to get our associates to sign their Letter of Authorization of Discount, thus renewing their trust in Derrama Magisterial. In this great campaign, thousands of teachers voluntarily went to the cities to look for the promoters of Derramma Magisterial and to sign the letter by which they authorized the monthly discount of their contributions.
