The D<LF exists to continue to celebrate their life-long sacrifice for peace and justice by:
Protecting, preserving and promoting this extraordinary and inspiring legacy;
Share their courageous witness to honouring the sacredness of all human beings;
To restoring human dignity; and
To help people to reconnect to each other and to their own integrity.
Mission & Objectives
The D<LF promotes and shares the legacy of its founders by:
Lending a critical and consciousness raising voice to the challenges of people in pursuit of justice, particularly the marginalised;
Facilitating peace, justice and reconciliation through dialogue and reflection on key South African, African and global challenges based on the Tutu’s teachings;
Growing leaders inspired by the Tutu values of peace, social justice, reconciliation, Ubuntu and servant leadership;
Facilitating educational programmes through partnerships to deepen understanding of the Tutu legacy and how it can be applied to current challenges of contemporary life.
The D<LF will establish and curate a legacy centre that provides a space for reflection, dialogue, scholarship and learning to house the work of the D<LF.
