DADO is a sustainable development, not-profitable, non-governmental Organization established in June 1998 having 150 registered members in its network and registered under the Societies’ registration Act XXI 1860 having Registration No. 909 / 5/2890, with the aim to upgrade the Socio-economic status of deprived communities and to improve the standard of life, human rights, Health & Education conditions of the inhabitant of the rural areas-KPK Pakistan.
Dir Area Development Organization (DADO) is a grass root level Organization working in District Dir Upper and Dir Lower for the last 14 years. DADO participatory approach in social mobilisation, awareness-raising and capacity building will support a process of social development. DADO strategy is to listen to the beneficiaries and enabling them to create their own networks of support or networking with other relevant stakeholders, such as the district government, other NGOs, donors and last but not least other village organisations, will inform them about the situation and priorities of the beneficiaries and will build capacity for the latter through project implementation and monitoring.
Dir Area Development Organization (DADO), has been working for the development and empowerment of ignored & marginalized communities in generally and women and child issues particularly. DADO is working with communities for their development through provision of CNIC, governance in the TMA municipal service, safe drinking water, street pavement & sanitation, women political participation, and women economic empowerment, Promotion of Girls education, exclusive breastfeeding, VAW, Strengthening migrant workers wives, drug demand reduction among youth and HIV /AIDS with the collaboration and financial support of USAID, The Asia Foundation, Aurat Foundation, TVO/EC, AUSAID, University of Zurich Switzerland, DFID/Gep/British council, ANF, UNICEF, SRSP, CIP/ Word Bank, SPO, CSC, CWS etc. The main commitments of this organization are to develop the potentials of vulnerable and marginalized populations through effective action, self-reliance, expression, association and human institutional development. It aims to empower marginalized & deprived community with knowledge and skills necessary to intervene in the development programs with dignity.
DADO has a close Coordination and linkages with people who extend their voluntary support to DADO in their respective fields. A general body of 150 members and 07 BOG members also support the Organization in their respective field of expertise.
DADO believes to address development issues collectively. For that purpose it has linkages with other organizations having same or similar objectives to those of DADO at local, national and international level.
Keeping in view, valuable and long-term association with communities, government departments, local CBOs of District Dir Upper, DADO is well aware of the prevailing situation regarding health, Education and other social sector issues. DADO has also the capacity of need identification, participatory planning, implementation and monitoring of Hydro power station construction & installation related activities.
