Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training

The Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training encompasses two primary services:

1. Employment Service:

• Provided through 11 District Employment Exchanges and 2 Sub-Divisional Employment Exchanges across the state.
• Objectives:

1. Training Service:

• Offered through a network of 10 Government Industrial Training Institutes located in the 11 districts of the state.
• Facilitate coordination between job supply and demand by offering job assistance to both job seekers and employers.
• Enhance the employability of job seekers and students through vocational guidance activities.
• Support manpower planning and analysis through effective implementation of Employment Market Information.
• Objectives:
• Impart skills, knowledge, and attitude through vocational training.
• Include pre-service training, apprenticeship training, and in-service training.
• Focus on skill upgradation.
• Implement Skill Development Programmes and strengthen Employment Exchanges to enhance youth employability.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan Period, the department aims to prioritize the following areas:

• Implement Skill Development Programmes and strengthen Employment Exchanges to enhance youth employability.
• Target training over 6000 individuals annually through four major schemes: Craftsmen Training Scheme (C.T.S.), Apprenticeship Training Scheme (A.T.S.), Skill Development Initiative (S.D.I.) Scheme, and Short-Term Job-Oriented Courses (State Initiative).
• Modernize Employment Exchanges through the Employment Exchange Mission Mode Project (E.E.M.M.P.) initiated by the Government of India.
