Dóchas is the association of Irish Non-Governmental Development Organisations. Dóchas provides a forum for consultation and co-operation between its members and helps them speak with a single voice on development issues. The purpose of Dóchas is to be a meeting place and a leading voice for organisations that want Ireland to be a world leader in efforts to bring about global justice.

What Dóchas Does
Dóchas focuses on the following activities as part of it strategic plan in order to ensure the impact and effectiveness of overseas development work:
> They articulate NGO views regarding development effectiveness principles and then make these views available as expertise resources on their website;
> Through their working groups they share experiences of development practices that really work;
> Through their good practice Codes they set professional standards of excellence for development and humaitarian work;
> By providing learning structures and resources they ensure that their members have access to the latest information related to their work.
