Mission
Effectively and effidently manage hydropower plants, and maximize retums to the shareholder;
Take a lead role in accelerating hydropower development in the Kingdom by developing new hydropower projects independently, through joint ventures or through any other arrangements with domestc and intemational partners;
Provide energy security for domestic consumption, fuel economic growth, and also explore other forms of renewable energy other than hydropower;
Build capacity in hydropower development and management through recruitment and training of professionals to meet the current human resources requirements of the company while at the same time ensuring a robust expansion and succession plan; and
Be a responsible, proactive and progressive company with a highly motivated and dedicated team of professionals
Objectives
Effectively and efficiently operate and manage hydropower plants to maximise retums for the shareholder
Take a lead role in accelerating hydropower development in the kingdom by developing new hydropower projects independently, through joint venture or any other arrangement with domestic or international partners
Upgrade, refurbish and increase the capacity of hydropower plants for optimal utilisation of assets
Conduct technical feasibility studies, and detailed project reports of new hydropower plants for investments
Cary out the business of purchasing, importing, exporting, producing, trading, manufacturing or otherwise dealing in electric power
Plan and develop hydropower projects to ensure energy security far domestic consumpbon, and to fuel economic grawth
Develop human resource capacity in hydropower development, operation, maintenance and management
Explore and harness other forms of enengy besides hydropower so as to have abalanced and integrated approach in meeting the energy needs of the country
Integrate/amalgamate the existing and new hydropower corporations which are owned by the stakeholder
Demonstrate concem far the environment and communities local to DGPC's projects and production units
Represent and develop hydropower projects being developed by the Royal Government of Bhutan on behalf of the shareholder
Do all such other things as directed by the shareholder or which may be necessary to attain the other above objectives of the company
