Objectives of the Commission:
The Development Objective of EASTECO is to promote & coordinate the development, management & application of Science & Technology to support socio-economic development & regional integration.
The Specific Objectives include:
- Regional Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy formulation
- Joint development and application of Science and Technology for the East African Community
- Cooperation in joint research and development in Science and Technology
- Cooperation in joint research and development in Science and Technology
- Joint mobilisation, utilisation, management and development of resources, both material and human for the development of science and technology in the Community
- Development, adoption and utilisation of Information and Communication Technology, as well as the adoption of new and emerging technologies
- Promotion of scientific and technological innovation and invention in the Partner States
- Cooperation with organizations with similar objective
