Natural Gas projects company was established under the decision of the Minister of Investment Affaires and international cooperation no. 142 for the year 1983, under the provisions of the law no.43 for the year 1974 and its amendments according to the investment system of arab, foreign and free zones, and without prejudice to the provisions of the law no.159 for the year 1981 and its implementing regulations, for the purpose of carrying out the implementation of natural gas projects as a general contractor and to all work associated with and related to those activities.  

There has been several amendments to the statute of the company, whether as to the purpose or name or capital latest with the dacision of the president of the general authority for investment no. 1604/ع in 18/8/2008 to change the company’s name to become egypt gas company –sae – instead of natural gas projects company – SAE .
