eLEAF is a Netherlands-based high-tech company that supplies quantitative data on water and vegetation on any land surface to support sustainable water use, increase food production, and protect environmental systems. eLEAF is active worldwide and has completed projects in over 30 countries. They closely work with partners that are at the forefront of new developments in food security and water productivity. This enables the to deal with challenges and problems the moment they arise and develop a structural solution for it. eLEAF’s product offering is targeted at the entire agri-business value chain ranging from farmers to food processors as well as non-profit organizations, public institutions, and governments.
eLEAF operates in the transition area between consultancy, remote sensing science and operational applications for agricultural and water resources management. eLEAF is the developer and owner of a set of algorithms that transform meteorological and remote sensing based data into quantitative crop-, water- and climate parameters per pixel. This technology is called Pixel Intelligence Mapping® and the resulting PiMapping® data components form the building blocks for applications and management systems worldwide.
eLEAF Services
eLEAF’s unique data form the basis of eLEAF services which can be grouped into three main categories; research, consultancy and applications. Research projects are implemented in collaboration with universities and research institutes worldwide and are often publicly funded. Consultancy projects usually involve a specific request from a client for which they provide a solution in full. Clients range from national governments and private sector companies with a specific request, to the international financing institutions such as EU, World Bank, ADB. Together with clients they determine the necessary spatial and temporal resolution taking end-user requirements and costs into account in order to deliver the best possible solution that meets their needs.
PiMapping® data components contain information about crop growth and related water use valuable for a variety of end-users ranging from individual farmers and food processors to NGOs, water management authorities and governments. Each of these groups requires their own mix of data components tailor-made for their activities. eLEAF prefers to work with Value Adding Partners (VAPs) that work from within these different groups and understand their specific information needs. VAPs use PiMapping® data components as building blocks for applications to be used on smartphones, tablets and desktops. These user customized applications visualize PiMapping® data and support the end user with clear information they can act upon.
