State enterprise Electricite du Laos (EDL) was established on December 18, 1961 which is the business of doing business, production, management, service and development of electric power to the guidelines of the Party and state law - the market mechanism to provide electricity to the electrical domestic and foreign enough, contribute actively developing economy - society and government laid out - sending electricity abroad to earn money to give to the nation.

Vision: A leading enterprise in promoting the socio-economic development of Lao PDR by providing electricity at a reasonable cost and making Lao PDR a major source of electricity in the ASEAN electricity system.
