The public enterprise Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine dd - Sarajevo is a joint-stock company in which 90.37% of the capital is owned by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 9.63% is owned by small shareholders.

Since 2009, JP Elektroprivreda BiH dd - Sarajevo has the status of the ruling company in the EPBiH Concern , in which it is connected by capital with several companies in the field of mining and equipment production. Those other companies are subsidiaries.

The company's mission is to produce and distribute electricity, reliably supply customers with electricity and trade in a competitive environment while using domestic resources and meeting environmental requirements, contributing to sustainable development and quality life in society.

The public company Elektroprivreda Bosne i Herzegovina dd - Sarajevo will:

• Produce electricity and thermal energy from domestic renewable and non-renewable resources in accordance with environmental requirements, current legislation and European standards;
• Provide an efficient distribution system for the delivery of electricity to end customers, and enable all users access to the network and power supply according to prescribed quality standards and provide information;
• Safely and reliably supply and trade electricity produced from domestic resources at competitive prices;
• Ensure economically sustainable production of coal for the needs of thermal power plants, industry and consumer goods at a competitive price;
• Invest in the development and realization of new capital investments, whereby special attention will be paid to investing in the production of electricity from renewable energy sources, increasing the flexibility of the energy portfolio and energy efficiency;
• Carry out restructuring of all activities with the aim of increasing business efficiency and meeting requirements within the Energy Community and European standards.
