Ella George Children's Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation. The foundation partners with non-profit organizations, supporting initiatives and programs that enhance the lives of children with positive and measurable outcomes. EGCF believes, that in order to advance the well-being of underserved children, it is fundamental to strengthen both educational access and the quality of resources at various ages of development. Prior funding priorities of EGCF included four program areas: Education and Literacy, Microfinance and Microenterprise, Early Childhood and Youth Empowerment, and Sustainable Environmental Health. Since 2012, EGCF determined a new direction for its grantmaking. The grantmaking now focuses solely on strengthening Education and Literacy programs. The goal is to work collaboratively with both funders and grantees to build and enhance educational and literacy programs for underserved children in the United States and abroad.
