The Ellen MacArthur Foundation was launched in 2010 to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. The Foundation works across business, education, analysis and communications to build a more resilient economic model. They have launched three seminal reports on the circular economy opportunity at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and in January 2014 entered into a formal partnership with WEF to bring the concept to scale. They have welcomed more than 80 global businesses, emerging innovators and regions/governments to start implementing the circular economy in their activities. They also work with world-leading universities to develop circular economy research, teaching and learning in their institutions. They have been featured in major media news including BBC News, CNBC, Al Jazeera, and the Financial Times.
