Embassy of Finland in Romania

The Functions of the Embassy The Embassy of Finland in Bucharest is part of the Finnish Foreign Service, whose mission concept is to promote the safety and welfare of Finland and the Finnish citizens and to promote a safe and just world. Finnish Diplomatic Missions, established in various parts of the world, provide a wide range of services for Finns and Finnish society. The Embassy is the official communication channel between the Governments of Finland and Romania and represents the governmental agencies of Finland. The Embassy prepares and takes care of contacts between the political leaderships and other authorities of Finland and Romania and promotes interaction and networking between the societies in different spheres of life. The Embassy follows and reports to Helsinki about Romania's foreign-, security-, trade- , EU- and domestic policies. The Embassy follows the development of economy in Romania, reports about it and promotes Finnish business interests in Romania. The Embassy promotes the knowledge of Finnish culture in Romania and supports in different ways cultural exchange and information between Finland and Romania. The Embassy's consular services include providing passports and notary services and assistance to Finnish citizens in distress. The Embassy issues visas and receives applications for residence permits. The Embassy of Finland in Bucharest is also accredited to the Republic of Moldova.
