About

EMVISESA is the  Municipal Company of Housing, Land and Equipment of Seville SA It was constituted by the City Council of Seville on May 8, 1987, giving continuity to the service provided until then by the Municipal Housing Board of Seville.

The Municipal Board of Casas Baratas was constituted on May 24, 1918 at the request of the then Mayor of Seville, Mr. Pedro Rodriguez de la Borbolla Amoscotegui, to solve the "problem of housing workers" that in Seville was a preferential concern , due to the seriousness that it had and in which both the high price of rents and the demographic increase and / or the lack of rooms affected.

The Board of Trustees was constituted on a charitable basis and became an operative instrument of the Corporation to develop its housing policy. It possessed much broader competences than those that in their day were granted to the Board responsible for the construction of houses for workers and associated in the project the entities and living forces of the capital with representation in the socio-economic sphere of the city.

The Board of Trustees promoted a total of 8,336 homes , carrying out important social work in the city of Seville.

Subsequently, on May 12, 1987, the Municipal Housing Company of Seville, SA EMVISESA was set up, in execution of the agreement of the Hon. Full City Council, dated May 8, 1987, as a continuation of the management of the Public Foundation, Municipal Housing Trust.

The Share Capital of EMVISESA was integrated by the totality of the special Patrimony held until that date for the purposes of the Board, which was transferred as such independent unit to EMVISESA as its founding capital.

EMVISESA'sfundamental mission is to facilitate access to housing for individuals and families whose low or moderate income levels pose a serious impediment to such an end, given the level of free market prices and the deficit in the supply of protected housing, in compliance of a basic principle of the Spanish Constitution and meeting the demand for protected housing not covered by the private offer.

Emvisesa has promoted more than 13,500 since 1987, which, added to those built by the Board, makes a total of 22,000 homes protected in 147 developments located in different neighborhoods of the city of Seville. The City Council of Seville, through Emvisesa, has facilitated access to housing for some 60,000 people, similar to the population of Mérida.

Emvisesa is part of EMASESA , TUSSAM and LIPASAM of the CEMS(Municipal Companies Corporation of Seville) created by the Seville City Council for the improvement of municipal public services, as well as to enhance the synergies that occur with them.
