The aim of the Energy and Environment Center at Deister was and is to promote energy-efficient and resource-saving construction, intelligent use of energy and the use of renewable energies. The site is owned by the non-profit association Energie- und Umweltzentrum am Deister e. V.

Over the years, the eu [z.] Has developed a wide range of services that is primarily aimed at specialists from the construction industry and related areas. Resource-saving and environmentally conscious behaviors are not just for experts, they concern us all. That is why the eu [z.] Supports the intelligent use of energy in schools, administrations and other institutions and also invites private individuals to find out more. It houses the Regional Environmental Education Center (RUZ) and is responsible for the implementation of all projects.

In addition, the eu [z.] Offers space for independently operating companies whose activities are based on the common guidelines on sustainability. The eu [z.] Is a member and sponsor of networks, professional associations and institutions. It cooperates with national and international organizations that are committed to the goal of sustainable development of our livelihoods.
