1.0 VISION STATEMENT

1.1 "A proactive, firm and fair energy regulator…"

1.2 Through this vision statement, the Energy Regulation Board will endeavour to be fair in executing the regulatory function, predictable, meet the needs of stakeholders (responsive) and timely update the regulatory framework in line with changes in environment.

  2.0 MISSION STATEMENT

2.1  “To regulate the energy sector in order to ensure the efficient provision of reliable and quality energy services and products…”

2.2   This mission statement is the main reason for the Board’s existence. Through it, the Board will strengthen regulatory framework, and improve collaboration and information sharing with stakeholders.

 
  3.0 GOAL STATEMENT

3.1  “To increase compliance by licensed entities to  energy facilities and infrastructure technical standards  from an average of 75% to 80% by December 2016” and

3.2  “To attain cost reflective tariffs and margins for improved viability in the energy sector by 2016”.

3.3  Through the above goals, the Board will endeavour t monitor the performance of licensed entities; regulate the energy sector; enforce mechanisms for complaints handling and protection of energy consumers; and promote collaboration with Government agencies.
