About

Almost 1000 million people in the world are illiterate, of them 125 million children and children of world does not follow without knowing how it is a school on the inside, can write or read their own name either. In order to reduce these numbers in Entreculturas we worked by the education and we fought by social justice. Entreculturas is a nongovernmental organization, promoted by the Company of Jesus, who defends the access to the education of most underprivileged, like means of change of articles of incorporation, justice and dialogue between cultures. We acted in favor of the cultural and human development through the Federation the International of Faith and Joy , of which we are members. Years ago we bet by the social promotion of the most excluded from the world.

Since 1955, Father Vélaz created the first school in a suburb of Caracas (Venezuela), giving birth to Fe y Alegría , this Jesuit organization has worked with thousands of children around the world. "Fe y Alegría begins where the asphalt ends", that is the essence of this popular education movement that drinks Entreculturas.
 

This commitment to the most disadvantaged is now present in 21 countries and offers educational coverage to 1,565,809 students . In Spain it expands its mission offering from Entreculturas volunteer programs, proposals of education and actions of public incidence to generate a culture of solidarity and global change.
