The EWN Entsorgungswerk für Nuklearanlagen GmbH (abbreviated to EWN) is responsible for the dismantling and disposal of the nuclear power plants in Greifswald / Lubmin (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) and Rheinsberg (Brandenburg). At the Greifswald / Lubmin site, EWN operates several disposal facilities and temporary storage facilities for radioactive materials to carry out this task. EWN is a 100% federal company, the Federal Ministry of Finance is the sole shareholder. The EWN Entsorgungswerk für Nuklearanlagen GmbH receives its financial resources from the federal budget alone. The Federal Ministry of Finance acts as a donor.
