Eptisa was formed as an independent engineering company in 1956, making it one of the oldest in the sector.

Since its creation, it has worked with public administrations and the private sector in the economic development and technological modernization of the country, consolidating its position as one of the most important Spanish companies in the field of engineering, architecture, health and information technologies.

Its presence abroad began in 1966, since then international development has increased and Eptisa now has a consolidated presence in over 30 countries.

During its over 50 years of life, it has added different companies and lines of business to its structure allowing it to approach projects from an innovative, multidisciplinary perspective, always seeking the best solution to clients' needs.

Eptisa's structure comprises several companies, of which Eptisa Servicios de Ingeniería S.L. is the flagship. Engineering, information technologies, health and ESRI Spain are among its most important activities.

In the field of information technologies, in 1991, Eptisa established the companies ESRI España Geosistemas S.A. and Eptisa Tecnologías de la Información S.A., now leaders in geographic information systems, as well as technological consulting services.

Eptisa provides engineering services in Transport, Water and the Environment, Building, Energy and Industry. It also has a wealth of experience in the fields of quality control and instrumentation and monitoring systems.

In its core activity, Engineering, Eptisa's gross incomes in 2009 was 166 million euros, and at the end of the year it had a payroll of 1622 employees.

Eptisa carries out its activity throughout Spain, based on decentralized organization with its head office in Madrid and branches or permanent representatives in most autonomous regions. This implementation provides physical proximity to clients and first-hand knowledge of the particular circumstances of each region. 

Last year, international business was 35% of their total turnover.
