The group operates in Rio de Janeiro state through its indirect stake in Light S.A. (13%), serving around 3.8mn users. It also manages, through the same conglomerate, seven hydro power plants with a total installed capacity of 855MW. Equatorial Energia also controls Cemar, an electricity distribution concessionaire in Maranhão state that serves some 6.2mn residents.
