Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. has been doing business under this name since 1st of August 2003, after the merger of Riječka banka d.d., Rijeka and former Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d., Zagreb. Both banks played an important role on Croatian financial market. Riječka banka d.d. was established in 1954 and, with 50 years of banking experience, was a leading bank in Rijeka, Primorje and Istra region, while Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. Zagreb was established in 2000 by merging three successful Croatian regional banks: Bjelovarska, Trgovačka and Čakovečka.
Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. operates on a national level and provides products and services to over clients through a network of 132 bank branches (in August of 2016) and 635 ATMs. Bank's network also includes 13 commercial, 8 entrepreneurial and 9 profit centres for corporate clients.
