In 2013, Essilor launched a dedicated division to tackle the issue of uncorrected poor vision in developing countries through innovative inclusive business solutions, strategic giving and research, advocacy and awareness. By 2020, the Group will have provided 50 million underserved individuals with the vision correction they need and trained 25000 unemployed or under-employed youth to become primary vision care providers and bring basic eye care to their communities.
