About

The European Consultants Organisation (ECO) is a provider of high-quality professional consulting services to a variety of public and private sector organisations, with a specific focus on international donor funded projects.

Since its foundation in 1992, ECO has successfully undertaken over 700 projects in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. ECO has worked for a wide range of organisations, including private sector companies, public sector organisations, ministries and state authorities, the European Commission, the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development, the Swedish International Development Agency and the Belgian Technical Cooperation.

 

Based in Brussels, we have regional offices in Mauritius, Romania, Slovakia, Russia and Turkey, as well as a broad range of local network partners in Africa and Europe. ECOs in-house expertise affords services in English, French, Spanish, Swahili, Kinya-rwanda, Croatian, Dutch, German, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, and Turkish.

ECO was awarded the ISO certification (ISO 9001-2000) in May 2004, for its success in the provision of high standards of quality control management across the company. These procedures, under constant improvement, are audited and renewed on a yearly basis.

 

ACTIVITIES:
 

Framework Contracts

ECO has developed a wide range of expertise over the last 15 years in managing European Commission Framework Contracts; since its creation ECO has successfully implemented over 700 projects.

In 2009, for the fifth time since 1992, ECO was selected to manage a Framework Contract, the EuropeAid/119860 FWC Beneficiaries that started on September 16, 2009. As the lead company of consortia participating in the implementation of this new FWC, ECO was awarded the management of the following Framework Contract lot:

Lot 7 (Governance and Home Affairs);


In addition to this, ECO is also a partner on the following lots:

Lot 1 (Rural Development and Food Security);
Lot 4 (Energy and Nuclear Safety);
Lot 12 (Humanitarian Aid, Crisis Management and Post-Crisis Assistance);

 

This new award is a recognition of ECO’s competences and professionalism in the management and execution of EC projects, as well as an appreciation of the expertise and skills furnished by the consultants employed by ECO.

With a database of over 8,000 consultants at its disposal, as well as an excellent track record in international development, ECO is well positioned to deliver high quality standards and services in the development sector.

 

Technical Assistance

ECO also provides technical assistance to public and private organisations around the world and has managed over 25 large-scale technical assistance projects since 2000.

ECO’s core expertise lies in the following key areas :

  • Public Administration Reform and Civil Service Reform (ECO & EWC) 
  • Justice Reform (ECO & EWC) 
  • Support to Non State Actors (ECO)
  • Employment and Labour Market (EWC)
  • Public Finance Management, including budget support (ECO)
