European Service Network (ESN) is a Brussels-based communications agency serving major European institutions, national authorities and corporate clients in diverse sectors. Print, web, audio-visual, IT and managed services … ESN does it all.
ESN brings to every project – large or small – creativity, energy and the latest technology. Our experienced, multilingual team pays careful attention to planning and management to ensure that our clients’ messages reach their target on time, every time.
European Service Network (ESN) has this skill and explores every creative channel to get the best results for our clients. Established in 1986, ESN is now one of the leading communications agencies and service providers in Brussels serving a range of private- and public-sector clients.
ESN covers the entire media value chain – conventional print products, multimedia, web and audio-visual productions – and offers integrated business consultancy and translations.
But ESN’s greatest strength lies in its people and high standards: a multicultural and multidisciplinary staff of in-house writers, editors, web designers, graphic artists and project managers supported by consultants and experts across Europe who are always ready to advise clients, create a vision to fulfil their communications needs and, above all, to implement it.
Solutions:
Consultancy
At ESN we help our clients to develop communication strategies, carry out communication audits, create a corporate identity, define or redefine their image, target their audience, identify their main messages, use the most appropriate media and approaches, and evaluate the outcomes.
Editorial
With some 20 in-house journalists and writers, ESN has a larger editorial staff than many newspapers and a dynamic ‘newsroom’ atmosphere. ESN’s editorial team has diverse writing expertise – from every facet of EU policies and activities to world politics, business, culture, music and even photography and gastronomy. The in-house team is supported and backed up by an extensive network of freelancers worldwide. ESN’s journalists and writers work on a wide range of products, such as newspapers, magazines, websites, brochures, online news services, films, posters, books, press packs and more. Clients depend on the editorial team for numerous services, including editorial advice and assistance, writing and editing, producing content for multiple media, reaching target groups – not to mention training in communication and writing.
Translations
ESN’s capable network of translators – all of whom translate into their native languages – are skilled in the art of rendering texts to make them appear natural and true to the original. While our writers produce the original texts mindful of the need to translate them later. ESN has the capacity to translate into all the EU’s official languages, as well as other major world languages, including Chinese, Russian and Arabic.
Print and design
ESN has a talented and creative team of in-house graphic designers who, based on the client’s communication needs and objectives, transform web and print texts into eye-catching visual treats – adding an extra dimension to the written word. Equipped with their imagination and state-of-the-art tools, they produce graphic designs and concepts for a wide range of products, including brochures, leaflets, websites and even comic strips and cartoons.
Web
In today’s fast-paced world of communications, the real-time demands of the internet cannot be ignored. ESN’s response has been to take a ‘web-first’ approach with many of its clients, where articles are published on-line before they are periodically compiled and customised for the print editions or syndicated out to other services. ESN has developed a number of effective and efficient systems to manage the complex information flows involved in real-time communication.
Managed services
For the European Commission, ESN currently manages Europa, the official website of the EU institutions. ESN also manages Europe Direct, the free-phone service that answers citizens’ queries about the EU in all the Union’s official languages.
Network by ESN
Network by ESN is about knowledge and shared interests. Each one of us, each one of you has a piece of knowledge which could be useful for others. The aim is to make our Network mutually beneficial. This is reflected in our participative approach: each member can contribute and each member can benefit. Our dedicated Network by ESN Intranet communication platform means you can benefit from the Network’s collective knowledge … the tips, information, offers, and so on that you share with the group. The more you share and contribute, the stronger and more valuable the Network becomes.
