The 21st Century has been characterised by disruption. Political, technological and social change is rapid and global. This requires new approaches to old problems. Development in emerging states is no different.

Emerging states, especially democracies, need transformational levels of investment to meet the demands and expectations of citizens. International development aid alone cannot meet this demand at the speed and scale required. A new approach is needed to harness the transformative power of the market.

Expectation State is an interlocutor with international investment, a partner for progress with emerging state governments, and a support for the international donor community to improve social change.

What we do

We provide a different approach to development in emerging states, supporting the growth of stable and inclusive economies, to benefit society as a whole.

In our focus states, we work alongside senior government officials to improve investment related governance and decision making. We don’t simply advise, we deliver; implementing strategies, reforming policy, delivering events, and building relationships with global investors on government’s behalf.

In our source markets, we maintain relationships with industry investors and global private equity. We work with them to enter our focus states, identifying opportunities, understanding the landscape, and communicating with government.

We commit to our markets, establishing a deep and long-term country presence. We work politically, maintaining relationships with senior levels of government. We bring world-class private sector expertise to bear in support of our clients.
