Mission
Kenya’s first ever family planning clinic was set up in 1962 by Family Health Options of Kenya (FHOK) at the time of its foundation. Over the decades, the organization has seen a substantial improvement in the nation’s sexual and reproductive health (SRH), but FHOK is the first to acknowledge there is still much to be done.
Family Health Options kenya is a local Non-Governmental organization which has been a leading service provider of sexual and reproductive health services in the country for the last five decades. We are currently present in 14 counties out of 47. with a strong grassroots network. FHOK has played a leading role in providing sustainable, innovative and comprehensive services in response to health and socio-economic needs of all Kenyans.
Creation of volunteer support
Due to the tremendous Socio-political challenges at the time, the founding father realized that there was need to involve more Kenyans both professionals and community members to legitimize the Planned Parenthood movement. This is how the countrywide volunteer movement was formed. FHOK has a strong grass-root network of 46 member branches with over 5,000 volunteers’ members in 44 counties throughout Kenya
