Legitimacy and Duties of the Agency 

• Devises strategies that can help to enhance food security and job creation opportunities in urban areas, prepares programs beforehand and supervises the extent of execution whenever legal permission is granted.
• Devises, coordinates and supervises ground works of supportive packages for productive safety-net, livelihood, micro and small enterprises apart from manufacturing.
• Conducts researches and suggests recommendations that hinder the growth and competitiveness of the small and micro enterprises with respect to the job creation and food security of urban centers.
• Builds performance capacity of supportive packages for regional institutes that support and coordinate urban food security and job creation.
• Based-upon the urban food security and job creation strategy, it plans and supervises execution of the sector’s national development.
• Coordinates trainings, delivers technological inputs, finances and consults the micro and small enterprises apart from manufacturing sector; whenever the desire arises from the support rendering institutions of them, by considering the growth intention of value chain along with micro and small enterprises apart from manufacturing.
