FAPH engages in the defense and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities in accordance with the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified by Algeria on 12 May 2009.

 

Mission and objectives:

 

• Respect for the inherent dignity of persons with disabilities, individual autonomy (including the freedom to make his/her own choice)
• Non-discrimination
• The participation of people with disabilities and their full and effective integration into society
• Respect for difference and acceptance of persons with disabilities as part of human diversity and humanity
• Equal opportunities for all
• Accessibility to public services
• Equality between men and women
• Ensure the development of the capacities of children with disabilities and the right to respect for their identity

 

In addition:

 

• The Federation shall preserve their autonomy and freedom of action and independence
• The Federation also aims to strengthen and promote civil society through capacity building associations in the defense of human rights and people with disabilities.
• The federation wants a referral agency for all matters of rights of persons with disabilities
• The Federation cooperates with the authorities and international bodies in the framework of international cooperation in order to share experiences and skills.
• The Federation shall ensure that persons with disabilities are integrated and taken into effect in public policy and in local development projects.
